A master’s thesis was discussed in the Department of Civil Engineering at the College of Engineering at the University of Kerbala, titled (Evaluating of the operational performance of the Karbala wastewater treatment plant under various flow rates using GPS-X model) by the researcher Nour Abdel Hussein Khudair.
This study examines the evaluation of the operational performance of the Karbala treatment plant under different drainage conditions. The GPS-X program was used to model the plant. The model was calibrated using data obtained from the plant laboratory for a full year. The results were verified using statistical equations. The results show that the model is highly accurate and can be used in future studies. The removal efficiency in the station is high, as the removal efficiency of most pollutants is higher than 80%, even if the discharge entering the station reaches 180,000 m^3/d. The discussion committee approved the thesis, which consisted of Professor Dr. Waqid Hameed. Hassan / College of Engineering – University of Warith Al-Anbiya (Chairman), Assistant Professor Dr. Maad Farouk Hussein / College of Engineering – University of Kerbala (member), Assistant Professor Laila Muhammad Ali / College of Engineering – University of Kerbala (member), and Professor Dr. Basem Khalil Nile / University of Kerbala – College of Engineering (member and supervisor) ) and Professor Dr. Jabbar Hammoud Al-Baydani / Al-Nahrain University – College of Engineering (member and supervisor).
